In my opinion, 4 Seasons Bowling Center is the best place in Hillsboro, Oregon to lace up a pair of bowling shoes and have a ball. The staff at 4 Seasons make you feel more than welcome; they make you feel like family. Sharon is "the" lady behind the counter who makes that happen. If 4 Seasons were in a hotel, Sharon's title would be concierge. She has a cohort named Don who will fix any problem you happen to be having with the lanes, and will be even more than happy to give experienced bowling advice.

Shawn Copeland is the local pro bowler, and he will help you with any bowling needs you might experience. Shawn will give an expensive glove fit to any bowling ball he drills for you - no matter what price you pay for the ball, or even if you buy the ball someplace other than there at 4 Seasons. Shawn can also provide shoes, bags, paraphernalia, and the best information available to make those elusive strikes a reality. One things for sure, Shawn bowls better than most bowlers I know. I've seen him in action, I was lucky enough to bowl with Shawn in a Pro-Am Tournament.

Tommie Jones is getting some "medical plumbing" done for her dialysis treatments, and isn't feeling too well this past week. Let's all wish Tommie a fast recovery & Get Well Soon Prayer. Maybe Tommie will be able to bowl in the Sweepers next Tuesday.

1st place play-off, between - Wild Turkies and Europe - took place Sunday 4/17/05 on lanes 13 & 14. Being a member of Europe's team and playing for 1st place - this description will tend to be a little biased.

Kudos were given by all the players for making the play-offs, and the first game started off with a bang. For Europe's team, Eilleen and Mike were playing above their avg.'s, while Jack and Pat were a little shy of their's. The other side of the lanes were working better for the Wild Turkies with Nick, Sharon and Harlan pushing more pins over avg. than usual. Ron was a few pins under average, but so was I. The "Turkies" managed to win the first game by 69 pins - did I forget to put in the word "Wild?" (sorry!)

The second game was a winner for Europe. Sharon picked-up a 5-7 split and it looked good for the Wild Turkies for a while, even with Sharon being the only player over avg. Luckily, Mike exploded in the 10th frame, and took us to a win by 22 points which set up the excitment for the 3rd and last game.

Now for all the marbles. I have tears in my eyes while typing this, but here goes. Everyone on Europe's team died down. I managed to be the only one over avg., but not by much, and when Harlan and Ron exploded with a 200 and 237 respectively - the game was over by the 6th frame.

So, this is from Eilleen, Jack, Pat, and Mike - to - Nick, Sharon, Harlan, and Ron -- Thanks guys, it was great we had a third game to decide the true winner for the season. Good luck and good bowling next year. See ya'll on Tuesday for the "Sweepers".
